The song "Resplandeciente" recalls sounds that evoke a ghost town in a green apocalypse, or, more accurately, a wound, but that are still reverberated with the joy and laughter of better times. Serves as a roadmap to this location and an introduction to the sonic landscape that Gigantes prepared for us.
Light reverb in the vocals allows candor and emotion to do the heavy lifting in the vocal deliveries of the EP, which was the right call. The staple gentle crunch in the distortion and layers as well as the intensity of the drums anchor the band's identity yet this time it's brought to a more serious space.
Rising in speed and picking up intensity, “Pensamientos Incendiarios” is fast, colorful, nostalgic with phantasmal synthesizers.
Rapid hi-hats and manic strumming embody the fire and frenzy in the second half. Showing us some of the grit that pushes through the pain.
Followed by “Solo Sombras”, which gives us a glimpse of the twilight hour, is followed by serene waves of clean guitars with atmospheric layers.
If this EP were seasons, this track would be autumn, as it crashes into the harshest and strongest track of the whole EP “Crisis”.
Where Gigantes en Japón shows us a faster and heavier side, leaning heavily on traditional grunge and punk flavors, resulting in a high dynamic landing in the highest note possible.
